Screen and investigate health-related cases for merit. These screenings will provide you with a nursing opinion regarding the merit of a case based on the medical facts presented in the medical records.

Define Standards of Care. From the factual details of a case, we can provide a nursing perspective on what a reasonable and prudent nurse would do based on the Standards we as a profession adhere to. We can help define the issues and point out which facts support or undermine a claim.

Study tools. These reports will allow you to prepare your case quickly and efficiently. Think about the time and effort is takes to get through a stack of medical records. You do not want the play-by-play, you want the highlights that make or break the case. Our reports provide you with that summary. Chronologies give you the minute-by-minute details in a table format. A brief report supplies a short narrative outlining the important details of the records. A comprehensive report gives a more detailed and thorough narrative.   

Literature Searches. These searches provide an integration of current literature regarding a patient's condition and the standards and guidelines pertaining to the treatment of that condition to be used for case analysis. The literature searches also assess for the validity and reliability of research studies, which may be used by all parties. Literature searches that are performed by LHP expand your medical library with little cost to your practice.   

Expert witnesses. After helping to determine what type of professional would best suit your case, we can present candidates for interview to aid your search in finding an effective expert witness.   Once chosen, we can then assist the expert by analyzing and comparing their reports with other work products. We can also interview them to prepare them for deposition or trial.

Liaison. Serve as liaison between the attorney and healthcare providers, testifying experts, parties, witnesses and other consultants and service providers. This step will eliminate you from having to coordinate these important members of your case and allow you to focus your attention where you need it.

Exhibit Preparation. Demonstrative evidence in the form of exhibits take precious time to create. You want the content of your exhibits to be professional and factual. We can assist in assuring that medical and nursing technology and facts are presented correctly through your exhibit.

Coordinate and attend IME's. We can attend these appointments, take detailed notes and create a report giving you the needed information discovered at the visit.
